Gema Revuelta, MD PhD directs the Centre for Studies on Science, Communication and Society at Pompeu Fabra University (CCS-UPF) and is a tenured professor in the UPF’s Department of Medicine and Life Sciences. She also heads the Master’s in Scientific, Medical, and Environmental Communication at UPF-BSM.
Holding a degree in Medicine and Surgery, a Master’s in Scientific, Medical, and Environmental Communication, and a PhD, her expertise bridges health and communication. She is the first Vice-President of the Spanish Association of Science Communication and an academician of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Catalonia.
From the CCS-UPF, and in collaboration with the Vila Casas Foundation, she is the principal investigator of the Quiral Project. This initiative works for a better health information that considers societal needs, values and expectations. Each year, since 1997, the project focuses on a specific health issue and complements the analysis by working meetings involving various communication stakeholders.
