Head of the Medical Oncology Section of the Hospital Universitario La Paz in Madrid and Director of the Innovation Unit of the Biomedical Research Institute of the Hospital Universitario La Paz – IdiPAZ. Associate Professor of Oncology at the Universidad Autónoma de Medicina de Madrid and co-director of the Aula Cáncer e Innovación.

His main areas of interest are focused on the molecular biology of lung cancer and other thoracic tumors, the study of predictive factors of response to cancer treatments and the study of etiopathogenic factors of the disease.  Dr. de Castro has published more than 200 articles in international journals, is a member of ASCO, IASLC and ESMO. He is currently vice-president of the SEOM (Spanish Society of Medical Oncology).
