Jazz Sethi

Founder and director of The Diabesties Foundation​ (India)

Jazz Sethi is a global diabetes advocate and the founder and director of  The Diabesties Foundation, a not-for-profit dedicated to empowering those living with diabetes. Her foundation adopts a multi-faceted approach, targeting health inequities and championing universal access to medication, medical literacy and medical education. They work with diverse stakeholders—including those with lived experience, caretakers, healthcare professionals, policymakers, and industry— to create sustainable impact in the diabetes space with education at the core. Diabesties’ outreach extends to rural communities, working in synergy with grassroots organizations to ensure comprehensive and equitable diabetes care. 

Having been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at 13, Jazz is not only a certified diabetes educator, trained under the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) program, but was IDF’s Young Leader of Diabetes (2019-2022) representing India. Her work with Diabetes India, RSSDI, and NHS England has led to impactful projects and publications. She is part of the Global Diabetes Compact of the WHO, an ImPatient Fellow with JDRF, on the patient advisory panel of the British Medical Journal  and a Dedoc voice.  

Jazz is also a professional dancer, choreographer, theatre artist, and author. Her ultimate aim is to sculpt a future where diabetes care is accessible, empathetic, and effectively meets the real needs of those it serves. Her efforts are to lead initiatives with a deep understanding of the complex interplay between healthcare, policy, and community needs.
