Laia Brufau
Director of Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility. Institut CatalĂ de la Salut
Born in Barcelona in 1981.
Graduated in Journalism from Ramon Llull University; postgraduate in Arts in Health (UPF), postgraduate in Digital Communication, Journalism, and Communication (UOC); master’s in Television Entertainment (UOC); specialization in Social Media (UNED), and specialization in Data Journalism (Iniciativa Barcelona Open Data).
With extensive experience in the field of print media (Avui, El Punt) covering society and health issues, in 2008 she joined the Communication Office of the Catalan Health Institute (ICS) in the media office. In 2016, she was appointed head of the office, and in 2018, coordinator of the newly created Directorate of Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility.
In July 2020, she added to her responsibilities at ICS communication support to the Public Health Secretariat, first to Josep Maria Argimon and later to Carmen Cabezas. In May 2021, she took over as Director General of Strategy, Dissemination, and Health Communication at the Department of Health during Dr. Argimon’s tenure.
She is currently the Director of Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility at ICS and the Head of the Arts in Health Expertise Program (PADEICS).
She is a lecturer and speaker in the fields of arts in health and institutional and crisis communication.
