Marie-Agnes Heine, a German national, is a trained radio journalist and a senior external relations and communications specialist with more than 30 years of experience in communications strategy development and implementation, risk and crisis communication, journalism, advocacy and media campaigns.

After more than seven years as a reporter and editor in Germany, Marie-Agnes Heine transitioned to roles as a communications officer and spokeswoman for various international organizations, including the United Nations Department of Public Information, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and the World Health Organization (WHO). She has also trained numerous senior staff in risk communications and media relations and has been deployed as a communications officer during emergencies across the globe.

Since 2014, she has served as the Head of the Communication Department at the European Medicines Agency (EMA).
