Michele Catanzaro is a journalist based in Barcelona and a professor of journalism at the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). He has a PhD in Physics and a two-decades experience as science journalist for Nature, Science, El Periódico, and other outlets- He is co-author of the book “Networks: A Very Short Introduction” (Oxford University Press, 2012) and of the documentary “Fast Track Injustice: The Óscar Sánchez Case” (2014), that received the Golden Nymph Award in 2015. His work has been recognized also by other awards, the King of Spain International Journalism Prize, the European Science Writer of the Year 2016, Prismas, and Holtzbrinck, among others. He leads the PerCientEx project on best practices in science journalism in the iberoamerican space, he is member of the advisory committee of Frontiers (Science Journalism Initiative del European Research Council). In 2023, he was Nature-Marsilius Invited professor en la Universidad de Heidelberg.
