Youmna El Sayed is an award-winning journalist and public speaker. She received the Civil Journalism Award for her coverage of the Gaza War, as well as the World Freedom Hero Award from the IPI and IMS on behalf of all Palestinian journalists. She has also been honored with the Maria Grazia Award for Foreign Journalism, and the Token of Human Rights from the United Nations, in recognition of her advocacy for human rights and dignity.
Her work focuses on stories of displacement, identity, trauma, and human dignity in times of war. Her motivation lies in conveying the human stories of those affected and in being a voice for the voiceless.
Since 2021, she has served as a correspondent for Al Jazeera English in the Gaza Strip. Over the past eight years, she has worked as a journalist for various international news outlets, including TRT Digital, TRT World, RT, Kuwait English Channel, CNA, and the Associated Press (AP).
