Maya Fedeli is a trained immunologist with a PhD in Molecular Medicine and a Master’s in Science and Health Communication. She currently works in the Research Development area of Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where she supports the design, implementation, and communication of Citizen Science projects. Maya assists researchers in aligning their initiatives with core Citizen Science principles, contributes to grant writing, and leads training sessions—such as lectures for PhD students—on participatory research.
She is actively involved in the European Citizen Science Association (ECSA), contributing to three working groups and chairing one of them. She also chairs the Salute (Health) working group of Citizen Science Italia, promoting public involvement in health research. Despite her current administrative role, Maya continues to co-author scientific publications on Citizen Science. With her background in research, combined with her communication skills and passion for public engagement, she is a key advocate for inclusive, participatory science.
