Rachel Pounds has over 30 years Humanitarian experience working in multiple different countries, initially as a health manager and later as a Country Director. She is now based in the UK and is currently Head of Save the Children’s Emergency Health Unit, leading a multi skilled team who respond to global emergencies providing emergency health care to populations affected by disease outbreaks, climate based disasters and conflicts.
Rachel comes from a health background as Nurse and Midwife and has a Masters in Public Health. Rachel was awarded an OBE by the late Queen for Humanitarian services in 2019.
