Dr Anne Ancia is a senior global health leader and physician with over 30 years of international experience in health systems strengthening, emergency preparedness and response, and global health policy across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
She currently serves as WHO Representative in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, providing strategic leadership on health security, universal health coverage, and disease prevention and control. Previously, she served as Senior Emergency Adviser at WHO Headquarters, leading global operational readiness and supporting major health emergencies around the world. Her career spans WHO, the UN system, bilateral agencies, academia, and international NGOs. Fluent in French, English, and Portuguese, she is recognized for strategic leadership, partnership-building, and delivering results in complex health emergencies.
