Tanya began her career as a health communications researcher in Colombia and later held leadership roles in international NGOs, including coordinating regional emergency communications for Oxfam in Latin America and the Caribbean for 7 years. Since 2021, Tanya has worked at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) as a Communications Specialist in the Health Emergencies Department, where she leads PAHO’s technical cooperation on risk communication and community engagement for health emergencies, supporting countries in strengthening preparedness and response to outbreaks, epidemics, and other public health threats across the Americas. Tanya is a communications specialist with a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and extensive experience in public health and humanitarian response communications.
