Alisa Ladyk-Bryzghalova is a mental health and public health professional with over a decade of experience with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Ukraine, where she has been leading the mental health programme and contributing to national mental health policy and system development.
Previously, Alisa had eight years of clinical experience in psychiatric services, promoting multidisciplinary and recovery-oriented approaches to care. Her public health work began in 2014 through institutions under the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, where she supported policy development, the introduction of new service models and surveillance mechanisms, the evaluation of clinical trial applications for medicinal products, and contributed to national research programmes.
Alisa has conducted applied research on the integration of mental health services into general health care, community-based mental health teams, and the well-being of health-care workers, and has contributed to international research and policy initiatives, including the Lancet Psychiatry Commissions and the WHO Special Initiative for Mental Health multi-country assessment.
