Diya Banerjee is Head of social media and audio-visual at World Health Organization (WHO), where she shapes the organization’s digital voice and creative advocacy for global health. With over two decades of experience across journalism, multilateral organizations, and policy communications, she has led high-impact campaigns at the International Labour Organization, the United Nations Development Programme and GIZ. Her earlier journalism career covered a wide range of socio-political issues; she has also worked with energy think tanks and produced The Hope Doctors, an award-winning documentary on medical clowning.

She has built partnerships with creators, youth networks, media organizations and major technology platforms, and has lectured or trained at institutions including Sciences Po, McGill University, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, the University of Basel, Université de Genève — Uni-Mail and the International Training Centre of the ILO. She holds master’s degrees from University College London and Jamia Millia Islamia and is a Charles Wallace Fellow and Goethe Arts Management grantee. She lives in Geneva.

Her work combines strategy and storytelling to build trust and shape global health narratives.
