Bhanu Bhatnagar leads press and media relations for the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for Europe, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. His role involves leading WHO/Europe’s media strategy and engagement, coordinating media events, advising senior leadership on media opportunities, developing high-impact media products, and reacting to reputational crises.
Before joining WHO, Bhanu spent four years in senior communications roles at Save the Children, based in London and Bangkok, with extensive travel to humanitarian crises across the world.
Prior to that, he worked as a multimedia journalist for ten years at Al Jazeera English, in London and Doha, where he produced live and breaking news coverage of major global events, including the Arab Spring. Born in Sweden, of Indian heritage, Bhanu holds a Master’s degree in Media & Communications from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts Management from the University of Greenwich.
